Affiliate Marketing Is Not A Dirty Word

When I first started out on my journey to become a successful Internet marketer I used to wonder about all the advertisements I came across that begged me to join an affiliate program. They made huge claims about how much money I would earn if I joined them so I just ignored them. That is until I started to understand more about affiliates and affiliate programs. WHAT IS AN AFFILIATE? An affiliate is someone who promotes other people’s products or services. When you become an affiliate you have a money making business opportunity but you have none of the worries or expenses of a typical business. You’ll never have the bother of dealing with processing or shipping an order or be involved with customer care. You will however receive money for your promotional efforts. When someone purchases a product or service through your efforts you receive a commission on the sale. All you have to do is promote and wait to receive your payment cheques. WHERE DO I FIND AN AFFILIATE PROGRAM? There are literally thousands of affiliate programs to choose from. Many of them will tell you that you will earn thousands and thousands of dollars per month if you join them. They will state all the amazing benefits to you and how new and fabulous their particular product or service is. I’m sure you have seen these advertisements everywhere on the Internet. If you type in affiliate programs into your search engine you will see what I mean. You will also just come across them as you are surfing. It can be quite over whelming to make a choice. HOW DO I DECIDE WHICH AFFILIATE PROGRAM IS FOR ME? There are three approaches to choosing the right program for you. Choose something that has a high demand Choose something that you have a passion for Combine the above two points so you will have a product that is in high demand and you are passionate about it. I personally think a combination of these approaches is the best. If you choose something that is in high demand then there will be a market for the product or service. It is essential to have a market otherwise you will find that no one will be interested in buying from you. The down side here however is when there is a high demand there is also a lot of competition. If you choose something you are passionate about then you’ll have more fun and you’ll be more passionate about what you are promoting. When you have something you can put your heart and soul into you will generally do better than if you are promoting something you don’t care about or know nothing about. 3 Key Questions To Ask About Internet Marketing

Internet marketing is exciting, challenging, and confusing. It can make or break your internet business career and yet many people who depend on internet marketing don't have a full grasp of the essentials involved in internet marketing.

In fact, many internet entrepreneurs waste a great deal of time, energy, and momentum because they do not fully understand internet marketing. Don't let this lack of understanding undermine your income potential.

In order for you to better understand internet marketing and its impact on your internet business you must know the answers to these three key questions:

1. What Is Internet Marketing?
2. What Is The Cost Of Internet Marketing?
3. What Is The Benefit of Internet Marketing?

What Is Internet Marketing?

Marketing is actually rather simple. Marketing is communication about an idea, product, service, or organization. Marketing therefore encompasses advertising, promotion and sales as well as the various techniques and forms of communication used to advertise, promote and sell.

Marketing is broader than simple advertising or promotion in that it includes researching the market to learn what consumers want and then setting out to meet their needs with the appropriate product, price, and distribution method. Marketing includes market research, deciding on products and prices, advertising promoting distributing and selling.

Marketing also covers all the activities involved in moving products and services from the source to the end user including making customers aware of products and services, attracting new customers to a product or service, keeping existing customers interested in a product or service, and building and maintaining a customer base for a product or service.

Internet marketing includes these same activities but also pulls in various internet tools including web sites, email, e zines, banner advertising, blogging, RSS, text links, search engine optimization, affiliates, auto responders, and other e commerce applications.

What Is The Cost Of Internet Marketing?

The range of expenses for internet marketing is huge. There are a number of promotional and marketing ventures that can cost you nothing or only pennies a day while other advertising efforts can cost you thousands a day.

It is important to consider your goals -- both long-term and short-term -- as well as how much each prospective customer is worth to you. This will help you determine a workable budget for your internet marketing campaign.

Many internet promotions are free, you can set up a web site and/or blog for $250 a year, and you can buy text links for $10 a month. You could easily spend $25-50 a day for advertising but there are many cheaper ad options available.

The best program is to start small and cheap and slowly build as you test and learn what is successful for your market and product. There is no perfect acvertising solution that works wonders for everyone. Each marketer and each product has a different formula.

What Is The Benefit of Internet Marketing?

Internet marketing offers more benefits than many traditional marketing mediums. The very nature of web sites and blogs is that they continue working to promote and market your product long after your initial marketing effort is over. Similarly many advertising efforts, such as ezines, newsletters, banners, and text links also continue to increase in power over time.

Email marketing can be a tremendous surge in contacts and sales and offers the ability to personalize your message as well as reach a targeted audience so your chance for sales goes up exponentially.

The other tremendous benefit of internet marketing is that it offers convenience and immediate satisfaction. Your potential customer sees your marketing message when it is convenient for them -- and often when they are seeking information about your specific topic. Then you offer them the ability to act on that interest right then. They can locate your product and buy in the time it would take to watch a commercial on television or turn a page in the newspaper. That is the power of internet marketing.

Now that you have the answers to these three key questions, you are ready to begin your own internet marketing campaign -- and succeed with your internet venture.

Running A Profitable Web Site

New web sites are popping up on the internet at an astonishing rate.  Many of these sites are being created by ordinary people looking to earn extra money on the internet.

New web sites are popping up on the internet at an astonishing rate.  Many of these sites are being created by ordinary people looking to earn extra money on the internet.  With the simplicity of web authoring tools that are readily available, it’s become much easier for internet newcomers to develop and maintain professional looking web sites.

Even with the web authoring tools and so many other resources at your disposal, it will still require a lot of work and patience before you see any real profit from your web site.  The actual creation of your site is only one step in a series of steps that must be taken in running a profitable web site.

To help make your web site as successful as possible, I’ve identified seven helpful tips for you to follow:

1.  Create as much original content as possible.  People enjoy reading original content, which will keep your visitors on your site longer.  People also tend to return to sites more often that frequently update their content.

2.  Make sure all links on your site are active.  Make it a habit to check your links on regular basis to ensure they work and that visitors are being directed to the page or site you intend.  If people can't get to where they want to go, they will leave.

3.  Make sure the content and graphics on your web site are relevant to its theme.  People can be easily confused if they land on a site expecting a particular topic, but the content or graphics don’t match that topic.  Most people will just move on to the next site.

4. Include a contact page or email address for visitors to contact you.  By providing contact information, your business will be given more credibility.  Plus, a potential customer may have a question about a product or service you’re promoting.

5.  Speaking of questions, adding a FAQ’s to your web site would be a great benefit to your visitors.  By listing answers to common questions, your visitor will be able to have a specific issue addressed without any interaction from you.  This saves you time to focus on other matters.

6. Offer your visitors a gift for visiting your web site, and provide other incentives for them to return.  These could include ebooks, software or even a subscription to your newsletter.  Most people are drawn to free gifts which will compel them to return to your site.

7.  Layout your web site in a logical order.  For example, if you’re promoting a product, don’t give away a free gift until your visitor learns about the product.  You want to keep your visitors focused on your product or site for as long as possible.

By applying the techniques above, you should be able to keep visitors on your web site longer and increase your overall traffic.  If you’re promoting a product or service, more visitors equate to more potential sales; resulting in more profit from your web site.

Internet Business Idea, new ideas, Internet

These are a few new internet business ideas that I won't be trying, but I hope that someone will. The first comes from people's frustration with technologies like e-book formatters. They don't want to spend hundreds for the software, and even when they do, they have trouble learning to use it. The solution? A service business that compiles e-books for people. You could even have customers e-mail a photo and story about each family member or friend, and make a photo scrapbook for them. Whatever the purpose of the book, the idea is that the customer can easily download the book when done. You would also host it on your site for a year or more, with the download link on a page that only the customer knows the address of. They can direct people to the page to give the book away, sell it, or otherwise distribute it to whomever they please. A larger contract might be doing the first high school yearbook in an e-book format (probably already done by the time you read this). You may know that Google and other search engines give preference to sites that are older. It's a part of their search algorithms, and probably a good idea. It does mean, though, that even the best site in the world on a given topic may be nearly impossible to find. This can also happen because the site has too few incoming links (another part of the algorithms). A solution is a search engine that gives highest priority to new web sites. It might even drop sites from the results once they are six months old, or perhaps always display those older sites on the bottom half of the page. The top results would always be the most relevant sites that are also the newest. This isn't meant to be better than existing search engines, but to serve a niche they don't serve. Why is this a workable internet business idea? Partly because it would be so different from other search engines would attract attention and usage. Perhaps more importantly, many people would love to check regularly to see what new sites are out there covering "dogs," "backpacking," money making," "baby names," or whatever. Also, new site owners, waiting to show up in Google, would be regular visitors, searching for their own sites. Another search engine I would like to see is one just for shopping. Imagine searching for "leather coat," and instead of getting sites that happen to use the words and others that know how to optimize, you got 80-word descriptions of various leather jackets, always with the price and other important information. If done well, only fishing poles would be in the results when you typed in "I want to buy a fishing pole." It could be a paid-inclusion search engine. The user just wants to buy something, without the usual information sites in the results or "Buy leather on Ebay!" advertisements. Results could be randomly presented to start, with the ones getting clicks rising to the top of the results. This would be a democratic placement similar to Google's ads, but with enough information to make it more meaningful than five to ten-word sales pitches. Can these new ideas work? Only time will tell, but I hope someone tries. In the meantime, I will continue writing articles like this to bring traffic to my sites. It has been the most profitable of the internet business ideas I have tried. Best Wishes Legitimate Business Opportunities Online

These are all tools to build your business, but if you are not implementing and working on a daily basis to do this you will not go to the next level. 4. The final point we want to make is keep track of the progress your business is making. If you find something that is working do more of it. If you are trying pay advertising and not getting the results you want then move on and try something different. Focus on adding content to your website in different ways and you will always be rewarded for it. Content and back links are key things you can monitor see results from.
